New third-party payment restrictions in Mexico
To comply with the local requirements of Mexico, from September 2nd, restrictions will be applied to all payments performed by third parties.
Note that this update won't require any changes on your end.
A validation will be performed on our end to block any payment in which the CURP provided for the transactions doesn't match the one related to the account holder.
Transactions that fail under these circumstances will be changed to status FAILED with the following 'Error Message':
Error Message | Meaning |
---|---|
CUSTOMER_NOT_ALIVE | Deceased user. |
CUSTOMER_INVALID_STATUS | User with CURP in invalid status (e.g., expired document). |
CUSTOMER_INVALID_AGE | Underage user. |
To avoid a decrease in the conversion rate due to these circumstances, kindly let your customers know that they should perform all payments in Mexico with accounts in which they're the account holder.
If you have any further questions about this regulation, please get in touch with your Account Manager.
